I haven't been able to go to sleep at night for about a month now. I lay in my bed tired, but I can't sleep. I'm 13, and don't want to take sleeping pills. What could cause this, and how else can I stop it (other than taking medication)?

It's difficult to tell you on the Internet what is causing you to have this problem sleeping.

Drinking Chamomile Tea in the evenings will help you Rest and get sleep. This can be purchased at any natural food store and most supermarkets. This works as good as any medical drug for sleep, especially for someone your age.

Taking melatonin is definitely the way to go. It is a natural hormone and you will not get addicted to it or anything like that. Seriously, try it. I had your same problem and my doctor recommended this to me and now i am sleeping great. Good Luck!

i have the same problem. im a 17 male. usually when im tired from soccer practice or track or cross country, i would feel sleepy, but if im not tired i have a hard time sleeping. if ur tired, u shuld be able to sleep. speak to your doctor if there are alternatives to pills, but i highly doubt it. i usually dont get sleepy till 3 a.m.!! speak to your doctor please and figure this out asap

maybe you have a sleeping disorder. maybe take a chamomile tea before you go to sleep or any type of tea so that you can relax and not think about as many things when you go to bed.
