Russia might not arm Iran, but China will. Russia might like closer ties to Europe and the West. China doesn't mix business and ideology.
I would predict the US, Israel, Britain, and Australia could be counted on our side. Iran, Pakistan, and Syria could be counted on the other side.
Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and the smaller Middle Eastern states might join our side if it turns into a Sunni-Shiite war, but I wouldn't count them as definite. Their feelings about which side is most likely to win might influence which side they join.
Iraq's government would support Iran's side, but that might not matter, considering how fragmented Iraq is. Turkey might join Iran's side just because the US supports the Kurds in Northern Iraq.
When things get hot enough, I think most European nations will join the US side, but that might be negated if it turns into a Western-Islamic war and the Sunni nations side with Iran.
Realistically, things have reached a point where it won't matter whether the US starts the war or not. A new world war is going to break out regardless. It will be at least as significant as WWI, and maybe a little more significant than WWII. It won't result in a nuclear holocaust, but, considering Pakistan and Israel both have nuclear weapons, using at least a few nuclear weapons isn't out of the question.

I think that Iran is selling the idea of war a lot more than "neo -cons"(whatever that is)... First.. I'm not sure that the U.S. will have a shot at Iran.... If you ever catch the news...tune in to what the Iranian president says about Israel... only today..yet another "Satan" reference.... Israel may get there first...You also do not take into consideration the fact that any war with Iran will be very different than the Iraq war.... Iran is the real deal... We'll not use "boots on the ground" like we did in Iraq...Iraq was supposed to be a "liberation"... Iran will be annihilation of their military and industrial complex... One might guess any attack on Iran would be quick, devastating and just short of nuclear.... I hope it doesn't go that way... I have to think that some of the people in Iran are Neo-nice..and want war no more than most Americans (conservatives and noe-libs)

In all honesty, I believe that it is a matter of what assets would become available if Iran were to fall as to what countries were to help. I think that until Iraq goes the way we want it, Iran will not be in any immediate plans. Kuwait was a staging ground for Iraq, Iraq for Iran, and so on. Enlistment in the military is actually pretty good, a lot better than other years. The reason allies are dropping is because of funding. Their countries cant afford to keep troops there as long as we have. Yes, starting a war with Iran would be bad news, but again I think we have a while to wait until that would become inevitable.

Nobody would help us, not without a major military strike against another country other than Iraq (it would be seen as a liberation strike by the rest of the world). I do not believe that Russia is directly supplying Iran, more like arms dealers are dealing Russian weapons to them en masse.
The neo-cons keep pushing this idea because Iran was their original target, but Iraq was seen as being easier to establish a significant presence in the Middle East. Iran was always our main target, mainly for an offense that occurred more than 25 years ago (remember the Iran hostage crisis?) as well as for more recent trespasses against us in the forms of supporting major terrorist groups and other attacks on America (USS Cole).
The problem we will face if we go to war with Iran, besides their military size, is a lack of support from our own citizens, as well as the world. Any move we make without being attacked will be viewed as either an American Crusade against the muslims or US "empire building" and we will be sanctioned and attacked economically as well as physically. An attack on Iran will lead to a nuclear war, and the end of our supremacy.

see I think we should pull our army back let them do whatever why we build up a big enough army for the job we don't have enough people to do this by ourselves but we should secretly cut off the supply to Iran build up our army until we can take the job because most places hate the us wheather we help them or not so we can save everything and Russia will still be not in the power while we fix the problem

Israel, England, probably even France (the new French leader is getting friendly with Bush). It's basically the Allies all over again.
If Iran were to incite a war (and it wouldn't be like Iraq, we wouldn't go to war unless they really ticked us [and the freedom loving world] off). Japan and South Korea would probably be quick to help too.

The only country I see backing America in an Iranian War at the moment is Israel, and they have enough of their own problems. Russia and China definitely won't help since both are trying to form economic ties to Iran. Britain won't help, they've already had enough of Iraq, and a new Prime Minister means America doesn't have their ever-faithful Tony Blair running the UK anymore.

Well our biggest problem is our own Congress allowing our troops to get to such ridiculously low levels. What were they thinking? We need to re-build our military. Is anyone paying attention to China these days? What do they think will happen when China decides they are ready to go to war against us....and they are not shy about saying they are working for that end.
We do have allies....but we are just stupid if we wait for Iran to get neuclear weapons. You think it might be bad now? Just wait!
Oil is going to be the "reason" for the next world war. Are we going to be ready for it?

The best help we could get would be some german commando's renditioning the US government and CIA, putting them in prison for torture. Then we vote in a bunch who dont think of war as the first diplomatic tool.

I seriously doubt there will be a war with Iran. Even Bush apologists are dropping like flies. If it were to happen, however, I suppose the Brits will be there, and this time--possibly--Canada, because we have a conservative Prime Minister who seems to admire the Bush neo-cons. The French might this time, but even now with warming US-French relations it seems doubtful.
