use a wireless connection like the connection for a laptop so I can be connected to the internet with out a phone line. Is there any special equipment I have to buy to make this happen.

You basically have three main options for internet access. You can have dial-up or DSL over a landline (home phone), you can have cable internet, or you can have satellite intenet.

With cable or satellite, you will have the line coming into your house without a phone line and will terminate on a specific type of modem. Those modems are usually supplied by the company supplying the internet connection.

From there, you will need a wireless router connected to the modem. That will run between $60-$80. Then, you'll need a wireless card for your computer. That's going to run another $30-$50.

But...these are one-time purchases and once you're set up, you're homefree.

You have to have purchase a powerful modem to connect between mobile and laptop. Modem will help to connect you to the Internet.
Rather modem as router you may have broadband connection like satellite television that is LAN which will give you 24 hours service.

well you need a wireless adapter on the desktop. then you need a wireless access point and internet connection. if you have no LAN line you can see if they have cable in your area, then you can run a wireless access point / router over the cable. you can see if its cheaper to get a LAN line and DSL
