Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine is well known. This is the school that was featured in the show on Animal Planet a couple of years ago.

But picking the BEST is impossible unless you qualify your question in more detail. Do you mean the best in training vets for large animal medicine? Small animal? Research? Outreach? The number of students graduated, or placed in jobs within 3 months of graduation? You can start with the US News and World Report rankings of colleges, although some schools consider that no more than a beauty contest. To make a really intelligent choice, you'll have to do some research on several schools that interest you, and then decide. By all means, do as many campus visits as you can, too.

Texas A&M College Station is the best in the world. You can also take a lot of international trips with their study abroad programs.

Well, I was going to suggest Texas A&M, too. I think you'll find it very up-to-date and the instructors very knowledgeable and easy to work with.

Who knows, a trip to France would make a great Graduation Gift!!!
