All the computers in my house connect to a network router. I can connect to the router with my other computer, but no the internet. It is DHCP enabled and I can connect and print to a printer on another computer on the network. The host computer and 3 other client computers can connect to the internet. I've tried 2 different network adapters and I can connect to the router with both just not the internet. The one I am using for that computer right now is Linksys model WUSB54GC. I have renewed the IP address and I can ping the ip addresses and default gateways and everything. Once an error message about the DNS Server popped up, but I couldn't find anything wrong with it. I have the same settings on every computer. I have walked through almost all of the windows troubleshooters relating to the internet and networking, but nothing worked. I have tried many different websites and have found many people with the same unresolved problem. Please help me. Thank you.

WinSock XP Fix offers a last resort if your Internet connectivity has been corrupted due to invalid or removed registry entries. It can often cure the problem of lost connections after the removal of Adware components or improper uninstall of firewall applications or other tools that modify the XP network and Winsock settings. If you encounter connection problems after removing network related software, Adware or after registry clean-up; and all other ways fail, then give WinSock XP Fix a try. It can create a registry backup of your current settings, so it is fairly safe to use. We actually tested it on a test machine that was having a Winsock problem due to some Adware removal, and after running the utility and rebooting, the connectivity was restored.

Pros: May save you hours of headaches; can fix tricky connection problems

Try to connect to the internet without the router. If you can access internet without the router than your router setting is the problem. If you cannot access internet even without the router, try to reset your cable modem.
Also make sure the WAN port light is flashing and the cable is plugged in.

See if you can access www.adobe.com. I like to use it because the website comes up pretty fast when you attempt to access it. If not, see if you can ping it by it's name (www.adobe.com). If you can, than there's a problem or wrong setting with the web browser on that computer.

If you can't ping it, try pinging 192.150.18.101 (The IP address of adobe.com). If you can ping that, that means it's a DNS issue.
