Can you USE the laptop withthe charger in, but it doesn't charge ? probably a faulty battery, or can be the charge circuit.
Does the laptop not run off mains, either a faulty Power unit or a faulty power board on laptop.
Take it to a local expert, get them to look at it.

get a clean one i'm serious it ca screw up your workstation and short curciut the electrical energy it you don't get it out of the domicile and in keeping with threat this is cuz the charger has some sort of glitch in it water? nutrition? or perhaps you only have been given ripped off via the area you bought it from

If its older the battery probably doesn't hold a charge.
Also, typing like that makes you look ignorant. If nothing else, type in it Word and run a spell check (unless you have Firefox 2).

did you make sure that everything is really tight when you plugged it in? (Like when I first got my laptop, I was scared to push the power chord in all the way because I thought I would break it, which is probably not what's happening in your case... lol) try and double check =] hope that helps
