Interesting question. I have been doing both. Selling my weakest holding and adding to my strongest and adding to my holdings that I think have been battered too greatly. I am not going to answer your question because frankly I do not know.

There is structural weakness in the economy that could cause a deep recession. Maybe even a depression. There is way too much debt at all levels.

I personally think that the best buying opportunities are in stocks of foreign companies, but I might be terribly mistaken on that point. Oil stocks do look like very good buys currently, especially if those huricanes wipe out a few drilling platforms in the Gulf. Good luck.

are you talking about should you buy or sell stocks in the current environment of the stock market? or are you talking about something else?

for a long term investment, of cause is buy now
