- Flight attendants are shabby
- They have exclusive use of the airport but made us walk through the rain instead of through the tube
- Always late
- Run by a corrupt Marcos cronie, just as big a thief as Marcos himself
- Bribes the Gov't to delay the opening of the big airport so that it maintains advantage over other airlines
- Ticket are more expensive
- Service at the desk is slow

I usually fly Cebu Pacific, which I strongly recommend, but a friend told me about a promo with PAL, so I broke my vow, just to check if they've improved. Lo and behold, nothing has changed:
- Flight attendants are shabby
- They have exclusive use of the airport but made us walk through the rain instead of through the tube
- Always late
- Run by a corrupt Marcos cronie, just as big a thief as Marcos himself
- Bribes the Gov't to delay the opening of the big airport so that it maintains advantage over other airlines

One would think that with all the competition in recent years they would shape up, instead they play dirty tricks like monopolizing the airport and blocking the opening of the other terminal, actually damaging the economy. How does Lucio Tan get a way with this? I guess if he can get away with the Marcos money he can get away with anything.
What do you hate? Any local alternatives you recommend?

Cebu Pacific is not 95% on-time anymore.
Their flights were almost 75% delay. I know this coz i'm a monthly air traveler. Last month, my flight was canceled due to their reason that no plane available? The weather is fine and if their reason is unavailability of plane, why did they have so many flights schedules. Maybe they should just limit their schedules because their number of planes are not enough. They open so many flight schedules this year and their total planes is only 14, i think?
Thank Godness, they transfered us to other airline or else. . .

I fly PAL twice a year and I always have problems with it. I always fly on peak seasons (summer and Christmas) and it seems that they cannot keep up with the number of passengers they need to serve.
Flights are always late. I have learned my lesson- check in early then go to MOA first.
Food is disgusting, once I ordered the fruit meal and they gave it to some other lady. I gave the stewardess an earful after that.
Stewardess, people on the airport counter are so rude, never admitting to their mistakes.
When I use Mabuhay Miles for upgrades, I need to go to their International office multiple times just to revalidate my ticket. Their international and Manila office should seriously communicate with one another. Can't understand why I have to get my ticket revalidated when I called their office and their system already indicated that I had my upgrade. Turns out they wanted to fine me $25 for no reason at all.
Horrible planes and seats! Their first class seats are the newest airlines' economy seats. They need a serious upgrade to keep up.
If it wasn't for the fact that they fly direct to Manila, I'd be flying Cathay Pacific all the time.

I use PAL each and every time I fly to the Phils.
Flight attendants-some could use a makeover and also learn some manners,
Have never experienced the walk in the rain,
I think 2/10 have been 30 to 60 minutes late,
Probably true,
Possibly true,
I find the tickets to be cheaper,
No problems with service at the desk,
Airline food is airline food,
A bit more lenient on excess baggage.

When traveling PAL I have noticed that any Filipina traveling with a foreign husband are treated rudly by the flight attendents, it's like they are jealous
Plus the planes are usually dirty
And for domestic flights they are too high
Even on flights from US to the Philippines PAL is more expensive then most

The only reason they are even in business is because they have almost virtual monopoly of the Philippine international flight. The Philippine government's protectionism would not let any other airline fairly compete against PAL.

I am a card holder of Mabuhay Miles.
By this card, a passenger of PAL is entitled to De Luxe Lounges, hotel rooms, etc.
Once, the flight was delayed and we were all waiting there in the boarding area, sitting on cold metal chairs, and a PAL steward asked a lady with us that the lounge is ready for her. At the time, I do not have the card yet. It was that incident that prompted me to have one.
And then, PAL cancelled flights to Riyadh.
I guess I'll just use the card to jimmy doors.

I don't see any problems flying Philippine Airlines except most of the time, airfare is more expensive than Northwest, Air Canada, Japan Airlines, and the rest. However, the convenience of flying direct offsets the fare cost.

The best part of PAL is the new terminal, as long as you dont have to transfer to another non-PAL flight.
The worst part of PAL is everything else.......and I'm not kidding.
They are more expensive than other international airlines that fly the same routes to and from the Philippines. Their on-time reliability is laughable (but it's not funny for the travellers at all). They fly dilapidated 747s to the USA with antiquated amenities like non lie-flat seats in their business class. Worse is their food, which is utterly disappointing--even by airline food standards. The cabin crew are nice to me--but I've heard so many terrible stories of how they are downright negligent to pinoys or pinoy-looking passengers. That is disgusting behavior for the national airline of any country.

I surely could locate it difficult to advise Cebu Pacific. Their provider attitude is take it or go away it. Granted they could furnish extra inexpensive fares however the buyer pays the fee like flight delays, and so on. Your lawsuits fall on deaf ears on the corporate place of work. I now have a letter from the dep.. of Tourism educating Cebu Pacific they're to touch me offering and apology, clarification of why the subject happened and how they intend to circumvent a matching subject to the subject. needless to say they Cebu Pacific could desire to careless what the government issues approximately their provider with the aid of fact that one month later I even have not had a notice from Cebu Pacific. They promote low-priced fares each and all of the time in paper. in case you get a sort of low-priced fares you're very fortunate. they have maximum of regulations on them it fairly is close to impossible for extra advantageous than one or 2 in line with flight to take transport of. the shoppers in the States could have a case for fake commercial. specific, they have the latest planes. They surely at the instant are not any frill. maximum inexpensive fare lots of the time, yet they surely won't supply you those low-priced fares except you insist. you purely have 3 options in the Philippines in case you're flying relatives so what are you going to do yet take the provider they dole out.
