This does iritate me to no end. I know a girl who has 2 children, is getting every bit of government assistance there is available. She won't work, and won't marry the father of her children because she doesn't want to put them on the insurance his company offers because she'll have to pay copays when they go to the doctor. I know there are some people who need SOME government assistance, but can't get it because of lazy people like her.

there's an excellent distinction between a hand up for somebody in non everlasting choose for of guidance every person can locate themselves in that subject and a hand out for somebody too lazy to artwork. regrettably the welfare device fosters abuse. anybody could artwork in the event that they're able to doing so. The governments job is to not help people. there's an excellent could desire to overtake the present device the place it fosters independence and self help and not handout which not purely motivate abuse yet are unfair to those that do artwork and are accessible being autonomous. anybody isn't entitled to something yet to get off their butts and detect a job. I raised a baby on $5.seventy 5 an hour without baby help, foodstuff stamps, medicare (I had group coverage by using my job). replaced into it easy? NO yet I did it and had a $25.00 a week grocery budget. I as quickly as observed a guy without legs. This guy could get on a skate board and with a brick in each and each hand pass to artwork on a daily basis. you're able to desire to savour somebody with that form of self reliance. So if this guy could desire to do it some lazy bum without actual problems can specific as hell artwork like the rest persons.

My ex-wife lived on welfare after our divorce. They took my child support and gave her slightly more than I paid in welfare. There was nothing wrong with her (physically at least), she could've worked especially when the kids were in school. At one point, because of some things she did, I tried to get custody of my kids. I failed. And during the proceedings they raised my child support 65%. I now paid more than welfare would give her. So she was taken off of welfare and lived off of the child support.
It's people who won't work like my ex-wife that give me a bad taste in my mouth about welfare. Some people may need it temporarily, but most don't and play the system so they can be lazy and live on the dole.

You are right. Pandering for the votes. A new underclass is being created now with the illegal aliens. By not forcing them to learn English and pandering to Spanish, we are creating a permanent underclass. Now our hotels will always have housekeepers, restaurants will have dish washers, and home builders will have roofers. What else can they do when they don't speak English?

Since the longest you can be on welfare (TANF) is 60 months total lifetime cumulative, how can there be a permanent underclass? And TANF has a work and/or job training requirement so its participants can't be "siting on their butts" The other welfare program, State Unemployment Insurance is for only 6 month. So both of these programs are temporary. There is no permanent welfare.

I agree, its definitely created a lot of dead beats. My guess would be at least 50% receiving it could get off their dead butt and go to work. Our govenment has been very slack in checking out the actual needs of a lot of these people. They in fact do make it rough for people that really deserve the help.
I have known people on total disability, that can manage to ski and get on roofs and shingle for cash, of course.

No we are just aiding them until they can get back on their feet. Unfortunately some people never can due to lack of education and or money. It is a cycle no money no college no college no money. Plus countries without welfare have more poor people than the United States. We have a very small poor population compared to that of other countries.

It's a permanent set of votes for the Dems. And, you pay for those votes with your hard earned money that the Dems give away to that "underclass."

This right-wing hobbyhorse of an issue is the LEAST of our problems. Plus it's based on anecdote and exaggeration and resentment, not FACT.
Get a clue.
