Yes it was,I saw him from across the room. Our eyes met and we both looked away.I felt as if Cupid had struck me with an arrow, hot and flushed and I had to meet him.All I could think about was god don't let him be married. We both navigated across the room till we were standing beside each other.I don't know what we said to each other, but it was enough that we went out the next night. We have been together for 30 years. Sharing life as soul mates. He still makes me tingle.

It must have been. I literally saw him across a crowded room, walked up to him, introduced myself and kissed him. I never did things like that, but maybe I did that night. I was 18 and he was 17. We dated on and off before life took us on different roads.

In the back of my mind, he was the perfect man that all others were secretly compared to. After my divorce (sons father) I swore I would never marry again unless it was him. And when I least expected it, he found me. I married him when I was 50.

It had to be fate, we are soulmates. I get amazed that we have been together for 10 years and we love each other more and more each passing day.

It was true love.

We both worked in a mini-mall.
She worked in a jewelry store.
I worked as a security guard.

She was a snob.
I was a jokester.

She hated men, especially security guards that told jokes.
And her father was manager of the jewelry store. No boy was good enough for his daughter.

After several - angry - rejections, she finally went on a date with me. A year later, we got married. 36 years now.

Parents still cannot stand me.
Her brother does not like me.
She is still serious and angry.
Now I am serious too. No more jokes.

But we are still together and the marriage works.

I felt these eyes starring, following me as I walked when I finally had the nerve to look at him, WOW he looked like my sketch pad "dream man" from art class. Until this day I have that sketch pad and his picture next to it. He is in a nursing home now, injuries from the Vietnam War just kept getting worse and worse. But we had a great 18 years together.

No, I couldn't stand the sight of him, but he was a persistant beggar. Wish now I had stayed with my first impression.
