back in the day, Elvis' hip movements were considered "naughty", by those days standards, so much so that on the Ed Sullivan Show, "THE talent show" of it's era, would only show him from the waist up.....boy we've come a long way since then I'd say!!!! Whoa!

Elvis was the first to do the pelvis gyration on stage while singing. I remember watching Ed Sullivan and the camera stayed on the upper half of him so you couldn't see him movin' and groovin'. It really wasn't very sexual, but a large segement of the older population thought it was distasteful in the extreme and of course their kids went right out and bought his vinyl, made him rich etc, etc.
