The first "talkie" was The Jazz Singer, in 1927. Television always had sound, but it was in black and white until the 1960's.

Okay, television ALWAYS had sound. The movies before 1929 were silent and the big theaters had full 50 - 100 piece orchestras playing a score written specifically for the movie being shown. The smaller theaters (sometimes just storefronts with a sheet as a screen) employed piano players to provide accompaniment to the movie. THE JAZZ SINGER was the first feature length film to have sound, but it was a hybrid - there were silent passages in the movie as well as sound. Microphone technology was pretty crude back then and the actors would have to huddle around mics hidden in table centerpieces and such, while the cameras, which made a great deal of noise back then, had to be housed in gigantic soundproof boxes so the mics wouldn't pick up the camera noise.

Before sound, ten or so movie could be shot on the same soundstage with the sets built right next to each other - the actors not only had to concentrate on their performances with the director talking to them (this is why, in old movies, you see the director using a megaphone - so the actor could hear the direction being given while a dozen other movies were being shot in the same space) but also hearing the noise of other acting troupes on adjacent sets as well as studio carpenters hammering away building other sets.

TV has always had sound. The movies started out many many years ago, as Silent Movies. They had a piano player in each theater to play during the movie.
