It is possible. You would most likely need a stronger transmission. Your V-6 tranny may not be able to handle the power of a V-8. You would need a new driveline. Your suspension would need to be upgraded to handle the weight and torque of the new transmission. You would also need the a wiring harness to hookup up all the electronics. Your sub-frame should be fine, I don't think they made a stronger one for the V-8's, but it is possible you would need to add sub-frame connectors. You would also have a cooling issue. There also may be a smog issue, but you would need to investigate the smog requirements for your state and county.

It is very possible just depends on how much cash you have to spend.

It can be done fairly easily.Your best bet is to buy a complete drivetrain "Engine,Transmission,Driveshaft, Rear Axle,Radiator,Engine Computer out of a like year mustang in a salvage yard that has the V8 drivetrain. If the price is cheap enough buying a complete wrecked like year mustang with the V8 already in it is the best bet as you can cannibalize it for whatever parts you need and then sell or if you have to pay them to haul away the remains of the wrecked mustang when you are done with the swap

If you have plenty of money and the skills to do the work required, go ahead, it can be done. If not forget it, buy a Mustang with a 302 already in it.

Check with some mustang sites. There are kits out there to do the conversions. You might check with Jegg's or Summit.
