Dlink make a great little wireless / cabled print server for USB printers, and trust me it DOES NOT need to be same make as either printer or router. Any "IT professional" will know network devices do NOT need to be same brand.

Several manufacturers make wireless print servers for USB printers. You probably want to get one from the same manufacturer as either your printer or your router if possible.

create a home network setup on both computers. Then select the USB printer and set its sharing properties to the home network.

ok here is wat you do. first go to your desktop computer and go to control panel and open printer property by right clik on it. then click on sharing tab on the top. and check the share this printer. name the printer you want. for ex hp office or laxmark....then click ok. now go to your laptop and go to control panen and printer and fax. on the left side u will see add a printer click on that, then in the box click next, then select a network printer, or printer attached to another computer, then click next, then select browse for printer, then click next, ther u will find your printers name if not click on your computers name, then you will see your printers name. select that printer and click next and finish, if asked for default this printer cick yes. your ready tp print from your laptop wirelessly...good luck...let me know if it worked or not...
