Do you believe in your horoscope?

Because I have a book and I read it.And I am a Cancerian.It says that I am shy,sensitive,creative,romantic.Is that true?Cause I am not shy.

Good for you. Most un-shy people would have tried to find confirmation of shyness just because the horoscope said so. They would find it somewhere. Or, failing that, they would just ignore the description. Classic self-deception: count the hits, (even the ones which would be "hits" for just about anyone), and ignore the misses. Enough vague statements and suggestions, and advice being given by these horoscopes and you can make them fit just about anybody.

But this one was wrong. You didn't falter. Good for you. Astrology is bunk. Even the so-called "real" astrologers will tell you that these dimestore horoscope books and articles are nonsense. It's just about the only true fact that they really know about astrology. Now if they could only realize that their sophisticated stuff is just as bogus.

Astrology has never worked. It will never work. It's superstitious mumbo jumbo. It's wrong. And in most cases it is just a scam to bilk you out of your money. Nowadays many frauds are just too lazy to go to all the work to study astrology in order to make their readings seem credible. Now they are just cold psychics, like Sylvia Browne and Jonathan Edward. They just tell you stuff without any divination or method at all. Well, as long as people buy it, why not? Gullibility is at an all-time high, thanks to our ubiquitous media, (this forum included).

Do you read a daily horoscope - i.e. Internet, newspaper, magazine, etc. ? Do you realize how many hundreds of thousands of people are reading and interpreting it [the very same one] as 'their own'? Kind of silly when you think about it, huh? This would be a very boring world if sooo many people had the same thing occurring to them every day !!! But a general compilation of monthly [birth month] qualities and talents are sometimes quite accurate. I'm a Leo and my traits are pretty much what is said about 'Leos'. So - - who knows ??

I don't really believe my horoscope. I wanted to but my characteristics are too different than the ones stated. I do believe that since I'm on the cusp, I have more characteristics of the sign next to me. Maybe you're at the cusp and are actually the next sign over?

Try an experiment. Copy the pages that describe people of different signs. Leave off any date information. Hand the pages out to a bunch of your friends and ask them to pick the one that best describes them.

Guess what ratio of people will get "it right"? My guess is about 1 out of 12.
