It's always best to be honest. Like they say honesty is the best policy and thats the gospel truth. The truth may cause some pain or friction on the outset but it gets better alot faster and easier than a lie.

You may be able to hide the truth for awhile but when it all comes out it will do ten times more damage and cause ten times more pain than the truth ever could.

Yes I think you should be straight forward with people unless it is going to cause them unnecessary pain. There are times that for a persons own well being you have to be direct and they may cause them some pain, but not being direct may end up hurting them worse in the long run. But if being direct will only hurt them more on the level of being mean then sugar coating causes no harm.

Being straight forward can be a positive experience. If the truth is being told in a respectful manner. Remember that if that is your approach--others have the right to interact with you in the same way. If you are only able to dish it out but not take it when it is served back--being straight forward may not be the way for you to go!

direct in giving a well thought out response when someone asks you a question (on here or in person) sure and only when asked, but to the point of being brutal no. I believe in honesty but everyone's honesty doesn't mean I agree with them nor do I expect they all will agree with me either.

Yes it should be a plus. That is the problem with they world today if you don't like some one you should be able to tell them without fear of making them cry or hurting them.

I think they should, I'm very direct, sometimes hurts others feelings which I don't enjoy doing but I can't be accused of lying or sugar coating things.
