I'm 19 years old currently living with my parents and attending community college for two years untill i transfer to a university. I'm just curious, because i plan to move out of my folk's roof after my sophomore year in the university. So, how much are the lease/rents for an appartment now-a-days ?

That would depend on where in the world you are planning to lease/rent.

I'm sure New York apartments would be more expensive than, say, Phoenix City, Alabama.

. Look it up in your newspaper.
Look in the Classifieds, under apartments, maybe a 'studio', maybe sharing, probably unfurnished. Some go for $400/mo, and like it was said, NY charges $1,000+. Phone is $30 or so, utilities are maybe $70. Cable TV is $50 and highspeed computer is $30. Food might be $10 a day.
An a landlord wants the first and last months rent UP front, plus a deposit. STAY AT HOME!! 4eva.

Depending on where you are located, and apartment can rent for a few hundred dollars a month, or well over $1000 a month for a fairly basic apartment. Then there are usually additional expenses for utilities.
