Have you made the move to Privatizing your Q&A's What made you go private? And, for those who haven't...what has been your reasoning?

I never like being forced to do anything...that is my reasoning for not going private. I received my 2cd violation notice...which may not be much, however it is annoying when I can see no wrong in the question. I guess if yahoo wants to punish the good with the bad, then so be it. I only hope that one day, they will actually read the questions people reported and enforce a punishment for those who report falsely.

I had been on this site for over a year and a half. Going private with my questions and answers and network was something I would have never considered. I loved meeting new people... reading their questions... perusing their answers. Thinking people might do this with my stuff was more than fine with me. Someone might see something they liked..... cool. But then after all this time on this site, violations came flooding in. Violations for questions that were so tame..... so within guidelines. The odd thing was..... most were old questions that had even been closed out. I was getting at least one a day. But on the day that I got five in one day.... followed by two the next day..... I caved. I got scared. The thought of being here this long and perhaps getting suspended for insane violations just scared me. I didn't want to start over. I had put in way too much time and effort with this profile. It's not about the points..... it's about all of the "stuff" you've shared and revealed and learned and grasped....... all on this one profile. I didn't want to take that risk. So I closed up shop. The violations stopped..... but at what cost? *sigh* I really felt the effects today. Fewer people are answering my stuff...... I have no more contacts that can even see my stuff. lol I really don't want to be closed. What is the answer? I so wish Yahoo would help us by seriously reviewing these abuse reports. Or at least contemplating a way to make reporting abuse more difficult so that it is not abused itself. *sigh*

I went private only about a week ago for a different reason as everyone else. One guy at work got into my yahoo answers acct and asked a couple of rude questions. After offending a lot of users I had them deleted but you could still see them.
If that hadn´t happened I´d probably still public.
I also figured out that this way I wont get reported for no reason, just like everyone else said. :)

People have been deleted and that makes going private about the only option once the violation notices start coming in.
I went private on the basis of what I have heard is going on with good people getting violation notices and being deleted.

I went private because I was being targeted by some one. Every time I posted I was turned in. I really am not the kinda person who prefers to be private, I don't mind anyone looking at what I do on here I have nothing to hid. But when someone causes me to lose 60 points in one day and continuously cause Y&A to flag me, then I care.

My questions and answers are all public... I don't feel the need to make them private because I'm not a fake person nor am I afraid of what people will think of me for asking a question.. If I wanted my life to be completely private, I wouldn't be on yahoo answers... Hope this helps.. :)

I remember I was getting violations for questions I asked like 10 months ago, and that meant someone with absolutely no life and too much time on their hands went through my questions and reported old resolved ones. I made mine private.

Didnt want to but I feel that getting violations for questions that were asked damn near a year ago, is outrageuosly rediculous.

I only come on here a few hrs of the night. The older children spend most of the days on it. I like YA and i'll stick to what i am always doing. Maybe the private Qs are what people really want to know instead of being given funny or silly answers of which i like cause they make me laugh.

I have gone private, for the simple reason that I want to protect myself from people who dislike users with high points. I have also had a stalker in the past. At that time there was no option for privacy!

I went private because of trolls and people go into your file and report and for the contact I have to make sure they do not get stalker like I had that why

My Q&A and beloved Network went private as soon as the option became available. Not only do those with ill intent wreak havoc on those who don't deserve it, they go after any-and-everything else- even BEYOND the entirety of Yahoo!

Screw that. Screw them. The fascism has to end somewhere. McCarthyism should never have been allowed to become the status quo, period.
