Not enough to buy something good, sorry. Just save it.

No matter how geeky this might sound. Invest in stocks, because in your further years you will be richer than if you left it in a savings bond. Make right choices on stocks. The best way to learn stocks is playing the virtual stock exchange game.

Why is that a problem? And what's the necessity of spending it? Your friend could save it for sometime later when he/she really needs it.

Are they in school? Supplies for school.

Do they have a special occasion coming upi? Things needed for it.

Do they like the theater, amusement parks, dinner cruises? Go have fun for a night.

Feeling charitable? Donate it to a good cause?

Lastly, MegaMillions....:)

Good luck.

Open an ING Direct.com, on-line savings account. Your friend would get more interest in a year than the local bank.
