Because he is sitting out until the Patriots offer him a long term deal. Right now they have only tendered him with a franchise tag. That only guarantees him a one year deal worth an average of the five highest paid CB's in the league. That is definitely a lot of money, but if he gets hurt this year, then his value goes down for any negotiations for the future. Right now, he has a chance to be the richest CB in the NFL and could sign a contract for the next 5-6 years, but all that goes away with a torn knee or some other injury.
Besides, he came onto the Patriots and worked like crazy to be the best they have. He supplanted Ty Law as the number one DB and is one of only two actual shutdown corners in the league next to Champ Bailey. I say Kraft needs to get off his wallet and show these guys that they are actually appreciated.

He's holding out because the Patriots placed the franchise tag on him, so any other team that wants him will have to give the Patriots their top draft picks for the next two years unless they can work out some other deal with the team. Most of the time, though, teams just don't go after franchise tag players.
Asante feels that the Patriots should either give him a new contract or remove the tag and let him negotiate a contract with another team.

Blame a guy for a loss because of fact he didnt haul in a complicated interception? No way. What if Tom Brady threw 5 extra touchdowns. via your good judgment if he could have achieved that then its his fault. Why no longer blame the Pats protecting place guy. If Eli didnt get away the "Imperfect Play to end Perfection" might have under no circumstances occured. In a interest their are many performs only accountable a win or loss on one in each of them.

Because he is holding out for more money. He doesn't want to be under the "Franchise Player" tag because that will only get him a one year deal. He wants a big contract that pays the big bucks until than he is gonna sit out.

Because the Pats f*cked him up with the franchise tag. They can not give him a big contract but he can not look elsewhere for a trade, so he's holding out.

Because he's a greedy son of a ***** who isn't worth 8 million a year anyway. He had one good year last year and now thinks he's the league's best cornerback.
