We have countries fighting eachother constantly. If an invasion from another planet came, could the people of earth forget all that divides them such as culture, religion, color, values, and fight together for mankind?

Probably not. We would pretend like we would unite, but when the bullets started to fly there would be a lot of "accidental" shootings taking place.

The aliens would be too advanced for us to stand a chance, but that aside. No way. There isn't anything that would cause people all over the world to unite like that. Even on a smaller scale, the one that has the most power gets to say what gets done. World scale, no way.

Not to be funny by I really think based on past history that the left would try to reason with the invaders and would villify anyone who takes a stand against the invaders.

I am comfortable with my feeling that, as the strongest countries are attacked, the 2nd and 3rd world countries would be waiting to divide the spoils.

It would make no difference. Anyone who can travel from another star system would not need to invade us. They would be losing on the deal.
And if they just wanted to destroy us there isn't a damn thing we could do about it..

Why do you opt for a hazard to unite people? Threats do not convey peace, they convey about paranoia, hatred and scapegoating. that's how Hitler got here to means, invent an enemy and scapegoat them, divide and rule.

No. You would have major killings and looting. That is what people do when times get rough. The one exception was Sept. 11th.
