I mean don't get me wrong...I like diamonds...but if I was to pick my engagement ring, I'd have an emerald be the "centerpiece" and tiny diamonds surround the emerald...

Tell me what you think...do you like diamonds? Yes or no

As for the ring, do you like the 10-20K gold? or do do like white gold or another type...

These are the words of my wife." Diamonds are seriously overrated. You are just asking to be robbed wearing huge gawdy diamonds. I have more use for firearms. It's very difficult to rob me when I'm holding a .44 SuperMag."

I think they are overrated. If you are buying diamond you MUST educate yourself on the 4 Cs. Cut Color Clarity Carat #1 is cut. The Leo cut is a very good cut, but you don't have to have a Leo diamond to have a good cut. Make sure the diamond is appraised by an independent diamond appraiser and that he/she rates the cut "excellent" #2 Color - Of course this ranges from colorless D(very rare) to other near colorless diamonds G H I and then there are the fancies. The canaries, the chocolates etc. Again, you need to have a good jeweler and a good appraiser #3 Clarity - ranges from IF (internally flawless, very rare) down to I3 (which has many inclusions visible with the naked eye) #4 Finally, carat weight. Diamonds are sold by the point with 100 points being one carat. So after educating yourself, ask yourself this: "Is a Leo diamond really worth more money?"

I think diamonds are okay, but I agree with you that they are way overrated. I don't care for engagement rings with HUGE diamonds. I think it looks too gaudy. I like rings with smaller stones. There are other very pretty stones that are much more reasonable in price. Also, I prefer white gold. It is more appealing to me because it seems more modern. In my opinion, yellow gold seems more old-fashioned. It can still be really pretty, but it's just not what I'd choose to wear.

WOW!!!
You just described my engagement ring. White gold, large square emerald and a tiny diamond on each side. I prefer emeralds and I wear opals in my ears. I am not a huge fan of diamonds. Oh, I do not turn my nose up at them, but they are not my very favorite at all.
Peace.

i Love diamonds! they glitter in the sun,you know and i find it interesting . i love to see the rainbow colors !plus they come in different colors too. it's the only stone that does that so that's a reason for it to be expenseive.plus there are cheaper ones depending on the color ,clarity and the rest. like you,i don't like the one and three stone diamonds.i like eternity diamond bands the most.
18k white gold is perfect for me, harder.
i like platinum too just cos it's rarer than gold..
i buy diamond jewelry for myself.i am neither engaged nor married....to me it's just like how some people love shoes or purses or clothes...i just love diamonds in gold or plat.
if i ever do get engaged i will make sure that ring remains mine no matter what!

Diamonds don't have that much color. I know it sparkles but, rubies, gold and blue topaz, garnet, amethyst, tourmaline, emerald, onyx, fire opal, turquoise, jade, coral, aqua marine, jasper, and sapphire sparkles too but with eye catching color. Diamonds are just so boring to me. As for gold, I think the black hills gold is far more beautiful than just 24 k. As for durability gold sucks! Diamonds rule! But who cares if the gold won't hold them well. My diamond will last forever, if I ever find it since it ejected from it's setting.

I personally don't even care for a diamond. I only wear my wedding band. The diamond always pulled my hair when I was trying to fix it.

I prefer white gold.

I can't tell the difference between diamonds and glass, to tell you the truth. LOL! It really does not matter. Yes. I like diamonds in all kinds of jewelry but I do not spend money on diamonds anymore.

Oh honey, diamonds are a girl's best friend. Overpriced? Of course... but never overrated. I love diamonds, especially when set in white gold. I even have a real diamond stud for my pierced nose!

well. no. but i dont think you can tell the difference between a CZ and a diamond... i would take a Cz as my engagement ring instead of spending the money on the diamond! ill put the difference on a longer honeymoon or something else for us!
