Yes there are as it is unsecured. Ever y transaction you make can be read clear on the airwaves by anybody in the area. Also you are breaking the law and could actually be imprisoned for doing this if you don't have their consent. ad-hoc means no controlling router or access point runs the system, the machines directly connect to each other. This can be far worse, as their network may not even be firewalled as many people turn it off to eliminate connection problems with ad-hoc.

What Is Ad Hoc Connection

that means a computer to computer (direct connection) as opposed to a computer to router to computer (access point connection). The first is a much less secure type connection. It is not recommended unless you know without a shadow that the other computer(s) in the ad hoc network are clean.

An ad hoc is a connection directly between two computers that does not use a router, Internet connection, firewall, etc. It is intended for one time limited usage, not for day to day regular usage. Because it does not go through a firewall or router, it is not secure.

Ad hoc is short for direct. When using ad hoc you connect directly to whatever you intend to. Infrastructure means that you are connecting to specific network. Ad hoc works when networks are unavailible but you need to be close.

You don't want to us ad hoc. It means that there is another device nearby like a computer, psp, cellphone or something. You won't get an internet signal from this, and you will probably get caught.
Using someone's wireless signal is considered theft and you can be fined for it. But if you MUST then don't put any of your personal info. on the internet using the signal and be safe and smart.

Ad hoc means a peer to peer type connection and it is inherently insecure as opposed to using a wireless router/firewall.

its another wireless device that your router is able to communicate with. Typically channel 6 is your ideal channel.
