When we first got hit on 9-11, I remember our chief of staff saying that he was going to get our people in and out ASAP. What ever happened to that? Besides, the Iraqi people don't even want us there and still our prez can't take a hint. I don't think we should be anywhere, except here at home protecting our land.

If you support our troops you will want to get them out of that hell hole as soon as possible. There is nothing to accomplish there. We are wasting American lives trying to be a part of a civil war. I agree that we should have some military occupation throughout the Middle East, but definitley no where near the numbers we currently have and they should simply be there for occupation, not fighting.

It's a tar baby. But if we do not stick with it, the same bad guys who perpetrated 9/11 from Afghanistan will be free to make more mischief from Iraq -- and with access to the Iraqi WMD (which are now in Syria).

I agree, I have never supported this war. I feel sorry for the soldiers because they have been thrown into an impossible situation. Because Bush and his cohorts are idiots Osama got away. Send 200,000 troops into Afghanistan/Pakistan and eradicate every last living Taliban. Obama is right, Pakistan is hiding Osama, they created him. I have never trusted Pakistan, they are the reason Osama got away

I think we should get our boys out of there
(while we have some left)
Then either let "them" (the foreigners) kill each other or we should bomb the rest of them over there !
Those people are all insane !!
Why are we raising our children to go & die in a "foreign" land ?? GOD help us !!!
...And why doesn't George Bush send a few of his own family over there?
I'm ashamed to admit I voted for him !!!
We need to STOP the "foreigners" from coming over here !!
They hate us, & they do not value life as we do. When just ONE of our people go missing we stop at nothing to find or free them !
That why we call ourselves the "UNITED STATES", because we are UNITED in all we do.
GOD BLESS AMERICA !!

I think America needs to butt out of other peoples lives. What the hell is this war about? Terrorists? Yeah right, its about oil. I think we need to get out of the middle east and deal with our own problems. I just hope America doesnt try to go into Iran.

We had no business being "in" Iraq in the first place. The "terrorist attack" on 9-11-01 stirred a frenzy of emotions in Americans, allowing Bush to ignore our laws and the U.S. Constitution, misrepresent the issues, and attack Iraq in order to 'settle the score' over a personal vendetta his family's had with Saddam Hussein ever since Desert Storm in 1991.
Two other reasons we unconstitutionally, unjustifiably, illegally and immorally invaded another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States:
1. Dick Cheney wanted all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands;
2. The giant U.S. military-industrial complex (which Eisenhower warned us about) needed a new 'war' to boost its sagging profits from years of peace time. Corporations like McDonnell-Douglas, Sikorsky and Lockheed-Martin needed to make some easy money. Not to mention, the two "newcomers" to the federal government's 'war trough': the Carlyle Group and Halliburton both have direct ties to the Bush-Cheney White House....and both have become primary government contractors in this 'war', earning billions of dollars in profits, thanks to the gullible American taxpayers.
Anyone who still believes we're "in" Iraq to bring democracy to that civil-war-torn country is naive. Anyone who thinks we're "in" Iraq to establish peace in the Middle East is incredibly gullible. Anyone who thinks we're "in" Iraq to defend our country from "terrorists" is ignorant.
We're "in" Iraq for only two reasons: OIL and WAR PROFITEERING. That's all; and we'll be "in" Iraq until we've sucked every drop of OIL from its sand.
IF that's not the case, WHY are we building the largest U.S. embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad, overlooking the modest headquarters of the 'new' Iraqi puppet government installed by the Bush administration?
IF that's not the case, WHY is Halliburton building fourteen (yes - 14!) new permanent U.S. military bases in Iraq???
The Bush administration lied to Congress about 'weapons of mass destructing'. It deceived the American public into believing there was an "evil empire" out to get us, and it conned our valiant troops into thinking they were putting themselves in harm's way for serious, honorable purposes.
Instead, U.S. soldiers and dying and Iraqi citizens are being massacred all so a handful of wealthy elitists, industrialists and power brokers can become wealthier and more powerful.
Surely Satan has reserved a special oil-soaked, blood-stained corner of Hell for Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and all members of the most arrogant, incompetent, contemptible, cowardly, corrupt Republic-led Congress in history that turned its back while Bush ran rip shod over our Constitution and violated the terms of the UN Charter. Also in that corner of Hell should be the members of the current most arrogant, incompetent, contemptible, cowardly, corrupt Democratic-led Congress that promised to get us out of this 'war' if we'd elect them, and have yet to do a damn thing about it. May God damn them all! -RKO- 08/18/07
