Yes and no.

I used to work on RSX 11M Plus, a cut down version of VMS on the VAX for the PDP 11 range of computers. All text OS, using terminals (VT100, or VT100 emulators).

Strangely, I still use dos under windows, mainly for speed, but sometimes because windows won't let you do something.

I've always like the windowed environments aka GUI's, as they make life simpler for the majority of users. But I do miss the shortcuts that were available in the old text OS's.

Actually, network administration problems with Windows has been putting money in my pockets now for more than a decade. I'm not sure I'd get by if the world was using MacOS... there so simple to administer, I'd be out of a job...

Learn how to find drivers without Plug-n-play and do it in Unix or Dos.

Learn how to use text-based Google.

Massively expand my hosts file (ads would be so much worse in text).
