shouldn't it be A for effort or something, really do the thumb downers feel so powerless they need to thumb down everyones answers to make themselves feel good?! I thumb everyone up!

I never give thumbs up to trolls. What I do love to do when the trolls
thumbs everyone down that has a good answer is give a thumbs up
to see if it will cancel out the trolls. shhhhh Don't tell anyone.

I hear what you are saying. I went to check on a question an expectant mom asked. There were 4 thumbs down for every answer posted. The question was "What are some girl names from the Bible?" Now why would someone need to give a thumbs down for any suggested names that people posted? It is a truly petty and childish use of that option, is it not?

I agree. Sadly, I think that some people get a perverse satisfaction from giving an answer thumbs down. I can't remember who said this, but it was pretty funny:
Just imagine them sticking out their tongue at the monitor or flipping off the monitor thinking that they have done something really special.

What's a bummer is when some sicko latches onto you
as a thumbs-down fairy and every one of your answers gets hit.
Your not supposed to give them just because you disagree with an answer.
