me and my husband are having a baby boy, and we have decided to name him, Vayden Darcy Thorpe Chiquita
vayden being a unique name to go with Chiquita, and the other two represent family members who have passed away. Thorpe being passed down three generations. No one but us seem to like it, and many people say that we should change our minds because it doesn't sound right. Does anyone else like it, or should I keep looking for names. I think Chiquita is a hard last name to place a name with...any ideas for me?

anything will help

Sorry, but it's too much.

You don't really need a unique name to go with Chiquita. The two middle names are a bit overwhelming, even though I know that they're important to you.

Why not something like Darren Thorpe Chiquita. You get the Thorpe, and just combine the other two names to a more common one.

Your names are really neat, especially since they are all family names. Usually non common/different last names are paired with more common first names. Since the name is so long anyway what about putting a David, or John or Micheal in front. David Vayden Darcy Thorpe Chiquita is just as much of a mouthful, but David Chiquita is more masculine than Vayden Chiquita.

I'm really sorry, but that name would be awful for a little kid to have to go through life with. First off, I would have no idea that Vayden Darcy is a boy. I actually think that Thorpe Chiquita is kind of a cool name, so thats what I would go with.
Thorpe Darcy Chiquita would be the choice.
I like the idea that you are trying to honor family members, its a really sweet sentiment, so why not just stick with that?
I'm sorry but Vayden is truly a distateful and, in your own words, "stupid" sounding name. It sounds like something that was just made-up off the top of your head (not a good thing). Could you honestly imagine a CEO of a major coporation named Vayden? Thorpe sounds a little bit more believable in that situation.
I'm sorry if this is offensive, but you asked for ideas.
If you are still looking for names, I would choose something very traditional and manly with a last name like Chiquita (sorry, I think of the Chiquita Banana Girl whenever I hear this word), more to balance it out. How about:
Thomas Darcy Thorpe Chiquita
James Darcy Thorpe Chiquita
Michael Darcy Thorpe Chiquita
Zachary Darcy Thorpe Chiquita "Zach"
Mark Darcy Thorpe Chiquita
Matthew Darcy Thorpe Chiquita
Good luck and congratulations on your baby boy!

I think the Darcy Thorpe Chiquita part is fine. Darcy is SO not just a girls' name. Don't listen to these silly, misinformed people who say it is. Chiquita, obviously as the surname, there's not much you can do about that.

I do agree with the person above who said pairing a unique first name with a unique last name is just too much. I would stick with a little more common name since the surname is SO different.

Maybe something similar like Hayden or Ayden. But please God, not Jayden. I can't stand that name, for either boy or girl.

Good luck!

I'm not going to say it's stupid, but I believe your going the wrong tack going with a unique name to go with Chiquita. In general, If the child has a unique last name, it is better to go with a common first name. In your case, I would avoid anything that starts with C or ends in A, or your kid's classmates will be making up little songs about it.

Conversely, If the child has a common last name, it's better to go with a rare (but not unique) first name.

Vayden Thorpe is really cute... Get rid of Darcy!!! it sounds like a girls name. If I was your son and my middle name was Darcy, I would never want anyone to know.

lol I was thinking no chiquita too, but I don't think people realize that is the last name cause they didn't read the whole question. It's cute for a last name though. I really think Vayden Thorpe Chiquita is cute and It doesn't sound feminine without Darcy.

Please listen to me!!! I'm sort of still mad at my parents for my name... it's supposed to be unique, but I hate it! don't you see that I'm trying to save this kids life! please! I don't want him to go through what I had to go through and still have to go through :( I get made fun of and I can't even pronounce my name! God, why oh why! Just name him Aidan!

Vayden is nice/unique.
Thorpe is a good way to memorialize someone you cared about.
Darcy is less and less a boy's name these days, and Chiquita is an all-round bad idea for a boy.

SO: Vayden Thorpe would be my choice.

Vayden Darcy Thorpe Chiquita is nice but to make it better (and easier on the child seriously do you want him to be 18 before he learns to spell his name?)

Darcy Vayden Thorpe

no Chiquita

that sound a lot better don't ya think?

trust me my friend was pregnant and she wantes to name her Vanessa but i told her it was to usual so we decided on

Jessykah Vanessian Kaedlyr Jackson (jackson being the last name)

but u get major points on originality ;)

You name him whatever you want. Chiquita is a hard last name. The 'named in honor' thing is cute.
