I think you mean the Aztec Calendar, if you are then it supposedly predicts when the end of the world will come. I don't think there is an end but more of a date of when it'll happen or maybe it depicts events until the day its all over. I have one of them, its a replica but its still cool to put on the wall.

The Mayan Long Count calendar doesn't end.
On 12-21-2012, Batkun 13 begins. The baktuns can go up to 20. And even then, thousands of years from now, the Long Count doesn't end. The Piktuns begin.

The mayan calendar (which is a 10th of a day more accurate than ours)DOES NOT end on 12/21/2012, it goes on..it is just the completion of a 26,000 yr cycle where the earth completes a wobble and the sun is in direct alignment with the center of the milky way..also there is alot of planets in line with eachother at that point in time(google planetarium programs).... There is ALOT of information online about this. Also if you are interested in this stuff check out this link..its a start...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axRecXZHCeQ&mode=related&search= ....

I have already ordered a Surfboarding Yorkshire Terriers calendar for 2012. It is a highlight of my year to break the cellophane wrapping, sniff that indefinable new print smell, gaze at the cover and start counting the days till I can open the calendar to January. What can I say? it had better be a twelve month calendar, or I shall demand my money back!!!

Well, one foundation for the belief in Maya calender divination that is missing is there own demise. I've got some Mayan reading from 88 that everyone was going to get together and see the accuracy in 92. There wasn't any accuracy to get together about.

It's said the calendars end is a cycle that comes to an end. If you do a search there is a lot of information online.
I think the end is always the beginning of something new.

I heard somewhere it was based on the sun, but I don't know any more than that. I am wondering what will happen in 2012, when it is supposed to end. Will it be really freaky or will it be like a Y2k thing?

three circles
outer circle, sun time 360 days with 5 ' trade days ' also
middle circle, moon time 240 days
inner circle, destruction time. apparently the world gets destroyed at REGULAR INTERVALS and the next one occurs in the year 2012 when the calender ends, permanently.
because of the combination of the numbers 360 and 240 this calander can accurately predict the position of the planet venus accurate to within one day in over 6000 years, something modern man can not even approach in terms of accuracy. i say there must be a little something to it. incidentally, ever tried tracking the position of the planet venus....what a nightmare...it makes a figure eight...sort of in the sky and is exceedingly difficult to track accurately,
