Are you not aware of the evolution of music,dude? I mean, yes all those bands totally rock. But metal began as an extreme form of rock. At the time those bands were at the height of their popularity, they invoked the same sense of rebellion as metal bands do today. And they still do. Without Iron Maiden, there would be no Opeth or Cannibal Corpse or The Haunted or Behemoth or any band trying to change the sound of metal. Metal is metal, Some good, some bad. It's the same for every genre. Like what you like, but don't say newer bands suck, that makes you seem old and as closed minded as the same people who used to call Judas Priest and Dio and AC/DC and Iron Maiden "stupid".

This kid I know said he was a metalhead, and his favorite band was MCR. I was laughing so hard I thought my eyes would fall out. I don't consider myself a metalhead but I acually listen to Sabbath, Zeppelin (though I never ever considered them metal since they have so much acoustic stuff), AC/DC, Megadeth, Metallica, Opeth and Dream Theater. Linkin Park, SOAD, MCR and Slipknot calling themselves metalheads are an insult to metal.

Wow...finally someone with brains! There's two things I can't stand: Rap/Hip-Hop and all of these crappy 'nu-metal' losers who have the nerve to try and put themselves in the same genre as the greats. In fact, sometime ago I was talking to one of my friends about music, and he said he loved metal...when I asked him his favorite band he actually said Slipknot. When I told him mine was Judas Priest he said Slipknot was way better. I honestly would have punched him in his face if he wasn't my friend. These kinds of bands not only suck compared to the classics, they just suck period. I'd list all the REAL metal bands that are the best, but you already beat me to it. Rock on! \m/

Not all so called Nu-metal is bad. First off, I'm not a kid, I'm a wife and mother. I listen to most of the bands you listed, although I am a huge fan of Slipknot. I don't proclaim to be a true metalhead nor do I care what other's think of the music I listen to. Although most of the bands you listed are good, most of them don't even make music anymore, except for Ozzy and Megadeth. Just because you don't listen to them (Slipknot and SOAD), you don't think their cool or any good. How ignorant is that? I don't listen to Judas Priest, yet you think their true metal, I don't (in fact I can't f.u.cking stand them), but if you like them then hey good for you. I just don't get why people like you have to knock what everyone else thinks of a band instead of just shutting your mouth and ignoring it, you know what you think of them so keep it to yourself.

couldnt say it better. only prob. lets not call metallica , selloutaica or sell outs. they do hav rite to make money and as far as im concerned they r one of the greates. Im a huge VH fan, but that is rock not metal. this new crap is horrible. cant believe the new groups were influenced by our great ones. New **** suks.
