I watch body language and mannerisms which are very indicative of the differences between Chinese, Cambodian, Filipino, Japanese, Indonesian, Thai, Korean and Vietnamese (all nationalities with large communities in my home town, Los Angeles, California). I

No I don't think so but I wonder which language they might speak as I took a course in mandarin Chinese once . the differences in language of Korean Japanese or Vietnamese are very interesting as well as the ability some have to usually tell one ethnic Asian persuasion from the next just by appearance . sometimes I can tell somewhat but I do find myself hopelessly guessing at times.

Nah, Japanese people look different than Chinese. So do Koreans. And filipinos stand out the most from those people because they have spanish blood and also brown skin sometimes.

It's really difficult to identify people with Oriental features, but no, I don't automatically assume they are Chinese. Sometimes you can tell by their names, which are better identifiers, since names are distinctly different. But what does it matter? It is said that all blacks look alike, all Asians look alike, etc. These ethnic groups probably think all whites look alike. People are people. I for one couldn't care less.

No. But then I live in a very ethnically diverse area so I've learned to not assume anything about someone's skin tone or appearance. I can usually make an 'educated guess' as to where someone is from, but I wouldn't stake my life on it or anything.

When you consider that 1/6 of the worlds population is chinese, it's a safe bet.

Honey, of course not! Now,when you see someone with gray hair, do you automatically assume that they are "old?" Or do you look closer at the face and try to determine if they are pre-maturely aging? Just curious......
