You dont have to buy anything to be entered into the contest.
You have the right to open the bag to get the details to pplay the game, and then put the open bag back on the shelf.

The cap I just got for Coke Rewards has smeared print so you can't even read it. I think these companies try and get your attention with their dumb contests but they don't actually want to pay out on anything.

I guess for some contests you have to pay, but that's dumb. What if you win $5 but had to pay $4 to mail it it. I guess that's what they mean.
