I've learned that life is short but sweet. We've got to live each day like our last because it just may be.

without life there can be no death and without death there can be no life. besides this we all need to keep gaining more wisdom and knowledge, spreading what we have learned on to others in hopes mankind will become a little bit better off for our having been on this plane of existence.

I've learned to stop and smell the roses, enjoy sunsets and sunrises. I've learned not to take things too seriously.

The Dash Poem

I read of a man who stood to speak, at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on this tombstone from beginning ….to the end.

He noted that first came his date of birth and spoke the following with tears.
But he said what mattered most of all, was the dash in between those years.

For the dash represents, all the time he spent alive on earth.
And how only those who loved him know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own; the cars, the house, the cash, what matters most is how we live and love and how we spend our dash…
So think about this long and hard. Are there things you’d like to change?

For you never know how much time is left, that can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough, to consider what is true and real.
And always try to understand, the way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger, and show appreciation more, and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect, and more often wear a smile…
Remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash would you be proud of the things they say and how your spent your dash?

1. When people bleed, they all bleed red.
2. When they cry, their tears are colorless.
3. When they scream out in pain and anguish, that scream is not rooted in any native language.
4. When we sit down to eat, we break bread in the act of eating.
5. We all want a better life for our children than we had for ourselves.
6. No matter how civilized the society or primitive the tribe, the wedding ceremony has religious significance.

Yes, I agree with you. There was a period when it seemed like time stood still. Now its racing ever so fast. I think that is why I get anxious for things because I don't think I will have enough time to get or do the things I want to do before I die or get older.

Still learning to take each day at a time. I need to lose my list of things to do and just live for the moment.

LIFE LESSONS OF AN OLD MAN:

Your family is everything and the gold of your life. Invest in them and they will blossom.

Bless all that you meet, never judge them.

Happy people go farther than those sad ones with never ending problems

First a healthy you, then the rest of the world.

Truth is freedom, be truthful to yourself and others. Liar's fake themselves and flake others.

Sex is not everything pleasing in the world

Moderation means knowing when to let go of the glass.

Hold a glass of water out in front of you, no problem eh?
Now hold it there for 3 days, Uh Oh, call the ambulance!
Moderation

That nothing is written in stone and that change happens. What or who you were 5,10, 25, 30, 50 years ago doesn't mean you have to be that same person now nor does it mean what you learned way back then is still relevant. Fear and love are the only things that really exist in the world and alot of bad stuff comes from fear.

well, i just spent the last 6 months of my life, being scammed here on this wonderful internet. can't believe I'm telling you all this as it is rather embarrassing that with as much of life that i have experienced you would think i would trust my own instincts. but i didn't. i wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. anyway, that was last week and this is another day. so, trust yourself, listen to your gut and if you feel your head all in a cloud with confusion, come up for air and pay attention to yourself and what you believe, have no doubts in your inner alert system!☺

The ultimate truth that there is no ultimate truth. everything is always in a state of flux, growing or decaying. This holds true for both mind and matter. All things being relative.

We come into this world alone.
We leave it just the same.
We're meant to spend the interval in closeness
or so we tell ourselves.
But it's a long way from the morning to the evening.

Without question, the most important, vital lesson I have learned and will ever learn is:

Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You

or in layman terms:

Treat other people as you would have them treat you.

No other lesson will ever be as pertinent as this simple message. :-)
