can a tractor battery that is a 12 volt negative (-) ground get jumped off by a regular car battery...the battery went dead and the tractor need to be moved

Yes, I myself have started a Cummins Diesel with my Sprint. Most important thing is to make sure you connect Positive to positive first both on battery. Then connect the negative on the good battery, once this is done connect the other negative to a good ground on the engine of the tractor. Be sure to keep the clamp away from the fuel line. Once started keep it running for a good half hour to give the battery a bit of a charge. Good luck.

Yes, be sure you hook the positive (+ red) to the positive posts and the negative (- black) for negative to a sold pieces of metal to avoid sparks at the battery

Yes it can. Be sure that both terminals on both battery's are clean, hook the Positive to the Positive first to prevent any sparking, then negative to negative
