We had a little leak (okay, puddle) in our driveway and we have small children who play there. The car shop is taking care of the car problem, but what is the best way to clean up the puddle in the driveway so that it's both safe for the children to play there and environmentally responsible?

I would suggest using brake parts cleaner. It comes in an aerosol spray can and will help to break up the oil and make it MUCH easier to soak up by rag or paper towel.

Kitty litter can also work but leaves a mess behind unless you want to sweep every last bit up.

For the least hassle I would say go to any local automotive store and ask for brake parts cleaner.

Hope this helps! :)

Use rags to soak up as much as possible. The film that is left can be cleaned up with laundry detergent and a scrub brush. I then hose down the area and do it again, if there is nay left. Good luck.

Cleaning with rags is good but be sure to DESTROY THE RAGS.
The reason being is you don't want the stuff on you or accidentally on your car as it will destroy your cars paint and pretty much whatever it comes in contact with.
