I'm sure some people have married their cousin. Maybe they think 3rd/4th cousins aren't really part of the family. Also maybe they hadn't been in contact with this person they met fell in love, and found out latter they were cousin.(My opinion if you're in the family any part of the family, uncle, nephew, cousin 5th/6/or 7th cousin you're still part of the family(NO YOU DON"T MARRY YOUR COUSIN.

Yes, I know of a couple who are first cousins. There is also a couple I know who are second cousins. I am quite sure that a lot more people know of cousins who are married.

Yes. My Uncle Lyle (by marriage), his parents are third cousins. Many people don't understand how cousins work though and don't understand that third cousins aren't that close in relation. If I and my sister had kids, George and Bob they would be cousins. Then if George had a kid Sam and Bob had a kid Sue, Sam and Sue would be second cousins and George and Sue would be first cousins once removed and so would Bob and Sam. Anyway, if Sam then had a kid Sally and Sue had a kid Wally, Sally and Wally would be third cousins and it would be legal for Sally and Wally to marry.

It's legal under certain circumstances in some U.S. states, such as when both of the people are past child-bearing age or when one is known to be infertile. Basically, it's permitted when we know that no children could result from the marriage. I personally think that restriction is silly, because two cousins can marry and give birth to perfectly normal children.

It is the standard in Iraq for people to marry their first cousins. It's a tribal thing.

I am not joking.
