Forest fires are good and natural events. The tragedy occurs when humans and their structures are in the path of the fire; this occurs more and more as California grows and human settlement expands into the wild areas. Structures in these areas need to be built to withstand infernos.

I don't even know about them. But then keeping up with the earthquake and the mine tragedy and Hurricane Dean is enough for me at this time.

and yet we have another one in tahoe city. there have been so many in el dorado county this year its sad and scary to see.
