you have to format your disc, use restore discs, which were provided by the manufacture.

If you're sure that's what you want to do:
open My Computer
right-click on C
select Format
*****this will erase all files from your hard drive -- you will have to reinstall everything and will lose any files you do not backup to external storage before the format.
Frankly, I look at format as the last thing I want to do. What is the problem? PC slow? Cluttered? What?
Maybe uninstalling some old, unwanted programs and a Disk Cleanup, Scandisk, and defrag will take your system back to where you want it.

I have a multi-boot setup, each system is archived as built, and in a zip file. So, lets say I get a problem on D drive, then I boot into C drive, format D drive, then expand the 'as built' D drive sytstem zip file to D drive. Result.... spanky new system, no stress.
By the way, I only have one actual hard drive.
Use my E-Mail for more info.

aahh yes, but you can't format a hard drive in use, however if you have a second hard drive with an os on it you can format the first hard drive from the second.
