The area of each piece
=9 1/4 inches*8 ft
=37/48 ft*8 ft
=37/6 ft^2
Therefore total area of 3 pieces
=37/6*3 ft^2
=37/2 ft^2
The area of the original sheet was 4*8 or 32 ft^2 and its cost was $19.52
Hence the cost of 37/2 ft^2 is
$19.52*37/32*2=$11.29 ans.

Square feet used:
= 3([{9 1/4} / 12] * 8)
= 3([37/4 * 1/12] * 8)
= 3(37/48 * 8)
= 3(37/6)
= 37/2
= 18 1/2

Answer: 18 1/2 sq feet was used.

Cost of the sheet used:
= (19.52 / [4 * 8]) * 18 1/2
= (19.52 / 32) * 37/2
= 722.24/64
= 11.285

Answer: 11.285 is the cost.

Each strip is 9.25 x 96 in²
Area of 3 strips = A = 9.25 x 96 x 3 in²
A = (9.25 x 96 x 3) / 144 ft²
A = 18.5 ft² (is area used)

Assuming $ as currency:-
32ft²<------>$19.52
18.5ft²<--->(18.5 / 32) x $19.52
Cost = $11.29
