I think the responsible thing to do is have an abortion.
Adoption is not the way to go. There are already literally millions of orphans on planet earth who live in miserable conditions and don't have families. Let's take care of the orphans that already exist instead of bringing more unwanted children into this world.
Also, adoption is not an easy thing. I sure as hell would NEVER give up my own baby regardless if it were wanted or unwanted. Even if it were unwanted, i wouldn't waste 9 months of my life going through physical and emotional discomfort just so i can give my baby away. Of course I would love my child once it were born and once i held it and saw it. So adoption is definitely not something that can be debated.
So let's say that somebody gets pregnant and DOES keep the unwanted baby and raises it but that person is too busy balancing her multiple minimum wage jobs and neglects the child. The child is not receiving enough love, support, education, food, etc.

So do the responsible thing, people! There are already so many suffering children out there, do not bring another child into this world that won't live a quality life.
Also, don't impose your beliefs on others. You may think its a baby, but its still a fetus and i've never met a pro-lifer who has adopted children.
I agree with George Carlin (he's a stand-up comedian on HBO). He says "when you're a crack whore's fetus EVERYONE cares about you but when you're a 5 year old on welfare you're SCREWED!". and that is so true because pro-lifers don't care about the real children out there. I've never met a pro-lifer with adopted kids, and most of them do not adopt kids.

Yes, I HAVE seen the photos of fetuses. They don't change my mind. I am pro-choice and always will be.
A woman and HER RIGHT TO CHOOSE what is best for HER LIFE and HER BODY is more important than an embryo or fetus. A fetus is not a baby until it is viable.

dreamdress2, you're just a typical pro-lifer. I've seen just about every pro-life video out there with bloody fetuses and they don't change my mind.
Also, I hate how pro-lifers say things like "how would you feel if YOU got aborted?". That is the STUPIDEST question EVER! If I would have been aborted, I WOULD HAVE BEEN ABORTED and would have NO MEMORY OF IT WHATSOEVER and would not be alive on yahoo answers right now. You make it seem like I would be sad if I were aborted. NO I WOULDN'T BECAUSE I WOULDN'T BE ALIVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. SO WHO CARES IF I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN ABORTED?
And no, if my mother had an abortion that would not have been the responsible thing. She was a married woman with a successful career and she was 28 years old at the time she got pregnant with me. I was planned and wanted.
Stop trying to twist things around just to try to prove a point which you do not have.

I applaud you! they have a tendency to say adaption is the responsible thing to do bullshit...i work for the system, it's not the happy place people think it is. older kids dont get adopted, disabled kids dont get adopted and so on and once you turn 18 it's bye bye.... that's nothing, a prolifer told me "ok they are suffereing but at least they are alive" i was in total shock! Thank you for making this point...i agree 100%
HP is the prime example of this! "yea they are suffering but"...of course it wont amtter to you, you're not the one suffering, your kids or family are not the one suffering. so it doesnt matter to you if they, the one that are for adopttion and still are because no one wants to adopt them, suffer...it doesnt impact you at all...you are at home in a comfy bed, eating whever and whatever you want...no you are right "they are suffering" no buts about it!

Well I was adopted by my grandparents, my mother had me when she was 14. My biological fathers parents wanted her to have an abortion and my grandparents are pro-life. So they said that she would have the baby and that they would adopt it. Well I am here today because of their choices, and I am thankful for that. I think that if you are willing to lay down and open your legs then you are able to have a baby. This is even more so in today's world. There are so many contraception methods. Now there is even the morning after pill. If someone becomes pregnant from doing an adult act then they need to act like an adult and take on the responsibility that they have accepted by having sex. If you do not want to have a child you should not have sex, or at the very lest use all means of birth control. I also feel that the guy should always be made to help raise the child, remember it was both who agreed to have sex so both are responsible for what they have created. If someone gets pregnant in today’s world here in the U.S. it is from lack of thinking and not being responsible, it's just that simple. I have a friend who had an abortion she was 22 and was not ready to have a baby. She latter had a boy. She told me that she regrets having had the abortion. When she looks at her son and sees him, she said she often thinks about what that child she aborted would have been like. She said she was sad that she did not keep that child. She is in her 40's now and that still bothers her to this day. The thing is, is it should never be used as a means of birth control. That is just what people do when they are to stupid to use the vast amounts of birth controls that are out there.

you definetely did raise an interesting question & theory ; im no expert but this is what i think.
im just pro-choice myself; im not out to judge anyone based on their decision because its not up to me.
i have a 16 yr old friend whose boyfriend just gave her about $500 for an abortion. the pregnancy was unexpected & unplanned. they are both still in high school & looking to become something in life. if they brought a baby into the world, realistically, right now, both they & the baby would be pretty much in for a life of major complications. their relationship is also suffering. when i heard this news i was shocked completely. i have known the girl since we were 7 yrs old. her personality is kind of mean-spirited & always has been but i know she has a heart. i also understand that this is most likely hurting her emotionally & psychologically in some ways, but people have to make the most responsible choices for the long run.
bottom line being, from a teenagers point of view, & coming from someone who really did not think about the subject too heavily until it hit so close to home - i agree with you, & lets not even get into the general CONDITION of the world & quality of life in this day & age - i do not really feel that this world is any place for a child who, for whatever reason, is not going to be availed the best possible life.

I agree with you, adoption is over rated, it's a great choice for teenager, they can get medical insurance, financial support from adoptive parents, however this choice does not apply to every women. If you're married and well off, adoption is a stigma, it's like saying you surrender your child under the mercy of someone else. It's a very hard thing to do.
I think giving choices to women is a must in this world, I remember how many unwanted pregnancies, me- 1and mom- 4 had. If we keep all the babies, I don't think anyone will have the energy to come here to U.S., not to mention how impoverished we will be and that's a scary thought. I would never have met my husband, and never graduated from school I will have no energy left after dealing with one.

It is because you don't see what is wrong with your theory, that makes this so sad. What if your Grandmother, told your Mother to do the responsible thing and get rid of you? Have you not seen the video on line of a baby in the different stages of life.....you should watch it..it might make you change your mind about when life begins...
This four-minute video is not pleasant, but it must be seen. Thousands of innocent unborn children are torn to pieces everyday in the U.S. because most people simply don't know what abortion actually does. This video is shocking because abortion is shocking. It is no more gruesome than the reality. With the exception of the final scene (a second-trimester fetus), all of the video you will see depicts children who were killed during first-trimester abortions.
Do you have the guts to watch this, or, are you afraid of what you might see?

I am pro-life and I have two beautiful daughters that are adopted. There are many couples out there that wish they could have children. If a woman with an unplanned pregnancy would check out the many resources available to them we would have fewer babies thrown in the trash cans.
Both my children's birth mothers made very difficult decisions but they made their decision based on what was best for their child not on emotions. Both my children know their birth mothers and know they were given out of love and not thrown away.

BAAAHHH! The responsible thing to do is NOT get pregnant if you are not in a stable relationship that can provide for a child. Getting preggo when not in stable marriage IS IRRESPONSIBLE.
Abortion at any stage of the pregnancy stops a heart from beating. What does that sound like to you.
If you're gonna sex up someone you're not married to for Pete's sake use birth control. That would be the responsible thing to do in the first place.
SHEEESH, KEEP IT SIMPLE.

You raise an interesting point... I think many pro-Lifers would be taken more seriously if they started taking care of the orphans and unwanted children in the world.

yeah there are so many suffering kids out there
but wouldnt it be easier to put the baby for adoption???
have you ever seen abortion pictures??
if you ever abort a fetus just think about this images
http://www.priestsforlife.org/resources/photosassorted/
if you think you are wasting your life on waiting 9 months to be able to have it and give it away, then why get pregnant???
we need to be responsible ppl!!!!!
if you dont want to be responsible for the baby, then at least be when you have sex.
sorry to say this
you are just looking for someone to tell you,
yeah, you are right, abort it and end with your problems.
I would really, be a low life if I ever go and let someone slaughter my baby while I do nothing.
I ask myself, why didnt you mother aborted you???
