At the end of his second year, (remember the Reagan recession?) Reagan's approval rating was 41 percent; after the Iran-Contra scandal was revealed, Reagan's approval rating stood at 46 percent. His approval rating for his entire presidency was lower than Kennedy's, Eisenhower's and even Johnson's, and at times he was one of the most unpopular presidents in recent history.
In 1982, the Congressional Budget Office found that taxpayers earning under $10,000 lost an average of $240 from Reagan's 1981 tax cuts, while those earning more than $80,000 gained an average of $15,130. By that fall, the jobless rate hit 10.1 percent-the worst in 42 years, and a year later 11.9 million were out of work. In 1983, the country's poverty rate rose to 15 percent, the highest level since the mid-'60s.
One of his most famous assertions was, "Trees cause more pollution than automobiles do." In 1985, Reagan praised the P.W. Botha's apartheid regime of South Africa for eliminating segregation.

President Reagan's greatest legacy was not "ending the Cold War," but perpetuating it with huge military spending and war crimes in Central America with the illegal Contra war in Nicaragua and funding death squad regimes in El Savador, Honduras and Guatamala which resulted in tens of thousand of deaths.
the United States was already on the verge of victory over a foundering Soviet Union in the early-to-mid-1970s, as some analysts believe, then Reagan’s true historic role may not have been “winning” the Cold War, but helping to extend it.
The Soviet Union was already in rapid decline (and would eventually be ousted by a non-violent grassroots popular movement), rather than in the ascendancy that Reagan believed, then the massive U.S. military build-up in the 1980s was not decisive; it was excessive. The terrible bloodshed in Central America and Africa, including death squad activities by U.S. clients, was not some necessary evil; it was a war crime aided and abetted by Reagan.

The only reason Reagan was popular was because he deregulated the banks, bringing us the ever popular Savings and Loan scandals. Everyone rode that gravy train while it lasted. As far as the fall of the USSR, I think Mikhail Gorbachev would argue as to whether he or Reagan did the most to foster it. The only thing Reagan did was outspend them. Hardly a noteworthy accomplishment since it added to the egregious national debt Clinton did away with. But I rather doubt conservatives will face facts.

there is a lot going at here. First i might choose to assert i'm professional decision. you're are actual, extra white females are transforming into abortions than females belonging to different race communities. remember there are extra white females than black females in this us of a and latina females tend to be religious which probable performs a function. it might additionally help your argument to show out that prohibition only finally leads to a unfavorable underground - if abortions are outlawed human beings detect a thank you to get them under the radar in risky circumstances. Please word, no longer communicate radio isn't a gadget to unfold white perspectives, it incredibly is a gadget to unfold all perspectives. i in my opinion don't think interior the loss of existence penalty the two, this is unquestionably extra extreme priced to place somebody to loss of existence than it incredibly is to penal complex them for existence. there is extremely some hate in this worldwide, passing that dislike alongside to do those you disagree with facilitates no longer something.

Did you ever look up the election results from the 1984 Reagan vs Mondale election? He won 49 out of 50 states. Even the big liberal states such as New York, California, and Massachusetts voted for him. Just like Repubs have to admit that Kennedy was a good president, dems have to admit Reagan was a good president.

Reagan WAS and IS one of the most popular and beloved presidents in US HISTORY. He ended the cold war without a single shot being fired. I lived through the presidencies of Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and GW Bush. He won re-election in an unprecidented landslide, losing only 1 state. Perhaps you forgot the double digit inflation under the goof Carter or the 16% interest rates?

for the same reason liberals like carter and Clinton
the trees and auto line is once again taken out of context.
he was talking about the trees, (and i think we can all agree there is more trees than autos) how when they die, release methane gas. which is more harmful than co2. and that is why the carbon off setts (that gore proposes is another great distraction for the American people) is a JOKE.
what ever the trees absorb is released back into the air as they decay

President Reagan was a great President. One of the greatest ever.I remember him trying to get rid of people on welfare that did not need it saying,"the best welfare is get a job".That is where a lot of your dis approval ratings came from,by people that did not need it but was on it.Do you remember that? Some considered him racist, but he was aiming it at everyone.

You're right. He was sooooo unpopular that he somehow was voted as the Discovery Channel's Greatest American in history. IN HISTORY. IN AMERICAN HISTORY.
He must really be hated.

wow, thats scary. thanks for the info. my dad's a huge fan, so much so that he and i stood for 16 hours to see his coffin. i was too young to know, but thats really eye-opening. i know a few cities got hit pretty hard by reaganomics, but i really didn't know it was that bad. however, you should probably add a link to where you got the main body of info. i don't think you lied, its just that some people might not believe you, and i'd kinda like to see that stuff myself.
