Why should we take sides in the affairs of other countries when their conflict do not affect us? I think we should bring our Military home secure our borders and work on our domestic problems.

If I am ignorant tell me why. It is very cowardly to drop an insult and then fail to back it up. Do you just feel insecure or do you have some knowledge that I am not aware of or perhaps it is you who is ignorant. Unlike your self I welcome feedback on my answers.

While I might agree with the premise of your question. I also agree the reason for starting the war did not affect America as a whole or our interest directly. Not to mention was not in America's best interest. Even though in concept might of morally been the right thing to do.
There are deeper underlining reason we are currently involved in our most recent conflict. Not the reason we started the war(unjustly). There really was not one, as far as concerning our nation. However, there is a reason to currently stay the course. Granted this reason is of our own creation, a new terrorist state. Or will be if we pull out now. Lets not even get into the greater implications for the region. Our allies, and US when the terrorist that are drawn to Irag take more of a focus on America. Do to the fact they are no longer needed to fight Americans in Iraq. People talk about the fuel to the fire that the Iraq war has added to the ranks of these so called terrorist groups. What do you think will happen if we pullout of Iraq. When terrorist can claim an absolute victory. The terrorist ranks will swell like never before seen. Their sole target will be the US and our best current allies. So we started the conflict by less then legitimate means as pertains to American interest. Although, I would say now it is absolutely within American interest for the reason already stated and all those to numerous to mention. So in the beginning I agree with you, now I believe it has transformed into somthing we must win. Otherwise, what will happen to America will make 9/11 look like a non-event.
If it was not for foriegn nations getting involed in our events around our revolution we would not be a nation.
Peace!!! Love!!! Harmony!!! Health!!!

I agree to a point, However look at it this way, our country is the only country were almost pure freedom exists, Like tony Blair said if America is so bad way are so many people trying to get in and nobody trying to leave. Also because of that God given freedom I think we have to take a stand for basic human rights. We all bleed the same and no matter what religion you are, you still are a child of God. I would rather answer to God on why I went to help my fellow brothers and sisters, than to answer why did you just stand by watching people suffer. At the same time God helps those who help themselves, and one should not take advantage of others. Like some do here, and over seas.. This country has it's freedom because it is a country of laws and order, however flawed it may be at times. So come to the USA, but do it the right way, and help your fellow man. Also our military is a volunteer system, these brothers and sisters join knowing the danger, especially in these times. No great love does man have than to sacrifice his own life for his fellow being. These military people joined and fight to give these people a chance to have the basic God given chance to be treated like one of His children. This is a very complicated topic. Take Care

Ethan....I agree with you part. I would love to bring our brave troops home however, when the scumbags flew the hi jacked planes into the world trade center, that changed the rules for this country! These cowardly scumbag Muslims killed thousands of innocent American citizens, including babies that were in the nurseries within those buildings.

Personally I'd like to "Nuke" em they glowed and tell the rest of them over there "Want some of this?" don't screw with us or we'll make the whole middle east a glass hole in the desert ! Sand when exposed to extreme heat, makes glass ;)

Some Americans asked the same question when Hitler was rebuilding the German Army and taking over countries in Europe. They said we should not get involved in "Europe's War." How did that turn out?

When we are attacked like we were on Sept 11, and previously before that, it does involve us. When a tyrannical dictator in Iran wants nukes, it does affect us as well.

Your right but we also have capabilities to help countries that need help. We are strong, wealthy and powerful. If you constantly saw a bully picking on a defenseless kid at school and you know that if you stepped in, you could stop it, you would right? Or you could ignore it as you suggest and let the defenseless kid get beat up. I would help the kid if I had the capability to. That's just me though.

Almost every conflict in the world has a trickle-down effect that actually does affect us. To put it simple, the more stability in the world, the better for our American economy. This is a global economy we are living in if you did not realize this.

The biggest problems for the past 50 years is the fact we have put military all over the world. We are actually world police, and people wonder why we are hated.

Your unfamiliarity with HOW these things affect the United States doesn't change that they do.

However, we need someone who pushes the other direction.

Brakes and gas are needed no matter what direction our great nation goes.

If you're hinting about the fracus in Iraq, you probably never heard of the Twin Towers. Probably before your time.
