you can change if u want to, but the "want to" has to be there or else you will do it again.
I changed when I got married.....I love my husband and don't want to ruin anything between us....Our love is real and wonderful!

I've suffered more than enough experiences of the broken heart to agree. However, a miraculous thing happens where eventually my heart heals and I move on. It must be the optimist in me, but I honestly believe that a person can change, no matter the circumstance, if they really want to. That goes the same for cheaters. I'd give everyone a fair chance in that aspect if I felt they deserved it. You never know, if you judge a person based on their past, you might be missing out on a person who (surprise surprise - and I;ve seen it happen before) actually reformed their young and cheating ways. Now, if a person has cheated on YOU, leave them the hell alone. They didn't think you were good enough to be their one and only, they never will!!!

No...I don't believe that. People CAN change, but they have to WANT to change. I never cheated on my ex-wife, but I cheated on her BEFORE I got married. I hadn't planned on getting married, and I didn't know she was pregnant. As soon as I found out she was pregnant I asked her to marry me. We were married for 9 years, and still remain friends. I never cheated on her again.
There are those people that will always cheat no matter what, but not everyone will do that.
My 1st wife cheated on me, and I forgave her, but I was in the Army and went to Germany, and no telling what happened after that. I divorced her because she wouldn't come to Germany, and she lied about why she wouldn't come. No telling if she would have cheated on me if we had been together for a long time.
I'll admit that I HAVE been the "other man" in a married woman's life..... twice.

No. I cheated on my bf for the first 1 1/2, after he cheated on me with my friend I decided to quit. We have now been together for 4 yrs. (on and off) and I haven't cheated since. Although, bcuz of the on and off I was able to see guys the few times we broke up. So maybe some ppl need a break from their relationship for like a month to see someone else then get back together. That way it is not cheating, and if you don't talk about it you can't get mad. But only to do it if both of you are interested. Otherwise, it can blow up in your face. It takes a lot of work, but like the saying goes... Anything worth having is worth fighting for. ( or something like that)

it takes a very committed mature adult to make the decision that he/she is going to change and actually be able to change themselves. thats why only a slight percentage of cheaters actually change because its a lot of work and commitment. Unfortunately, its always easier to do the wrong thing. I wish I was one of the people who believe others will never change, I would have saved myself a lot of trouble.

I don't believe they can't change, I don't think they want to change. What they can't change is that they attempt monogamous relationships when they shouldn't do that. It works the same as an addiction, for anyone who understands that.

Yes, I believe that they will always cheat, if given the opportunity. Maybe in a rare instance, it could be a one time deal.
