Interesting... does this mean that the pitcher is allowed to switch his pitching arm at any time within an inning, at-bat etc.?

Five. Only Greg Harris (who did it once, in the penultimate game of his career) is within living memory, among MLB pitchers.

The others were all back when the calendar year started with "18--".

People keep forgetting Bert Campaneris. Not only did he play all 9 positions in a 9 inning game, the inning he pitched was a switch-pitch inning.
Most unusual switch-thrower in the bigs.

I wonder if it's Greg Harris himself who continually asks this question.

It was 1995 not 1985 that Harris pitched ambidextrously. He had a specially constructed glove that he could switch from right to left hand.
