How can I reset the hp psc 2175 printer counter?

magenta does not print even though it is full and the print head is not clogged and the cartridge is not expired.
The printer must have a counter and that must be why it does not print.
How can I reset the printer?

Do a shut down and restart. That will usually reset your printer too. If not, disconnect the device, shut down and restart. Then shut down and re connect the printer. That should work.
