hiya i am making a fantasy theme backyard for our kids and wanted to make a toadstill/mushroom looking table and chairs/stools for them to sit at ( like the ones in the fairy tales), wondering how to do it cheaply ie: concrete? or wood? etc. thanks for your time.

IF you have space to store them under cover during the winter or stormy months... I would go with getting a LARGER wire spool of the sort from the telephone company for the table, and smaller ones for the chairs.

They're already round and of the correct proportion!! Carefully cut foam on the seats, with fabric stretched and stapled would make the seats look more "mushroomy" You'd have to go with LESS of a lump on the table, but with creative-painting and some sort of reveal you could match the chairs.

Did this for indoor use as props for "Princess and the Pea" at a childrens theater production

Unless you want to go new, check out second hand stores. It sounds like you're looking for retro. Prices are going up on retro, because it has come full circle. However, there is enough out their to find. I you find a piece you really like, you may have recover in order to get the colors you're looking for. With retro you might be able to do yourself. Get out there and start looking. I know of a black retro chair right now in a second hand store. Obviously, I love the hunt and love second hand stores. You just never know what you'll find. I have seen some hanging lamps. Tipicol retro in department stores. Try Target .... they seem to have a variety of choices. Where I live now, there are now Target Stores. I miss them. Wall hangings, could be bright framed, glass posters. Large, medium, small whatever you choose. I've seen some really neat posters. Something you won't get tired of. Could have fun picking and choosing. Consider myself lucky, found large, black framed, glass poster at the Goodwill. You never know what your find is going to be for the day. My poster is now hanging in lower level bathroom. Disco - - - Retro sounds pretty much the same. If not, could be combined. The kind of chairs etc. you're talking about don't take up much room. Sounds like a fun project. Have fun with it.
