She said it just started hurting today. Before you would have to put a little pressure on it to feel it. Now its more out and if u touch her near her underarm you can feel the bump or knot under her skin. What could it be?

I agree with the other posters who suggest a swollen or infected lymph node is the most likely culprit, or it could also be a fibroid or cyst--many people don't realize that the breast tissue extends up into the armpit (axilla to medical types *g*).

She should certainly have it checked out by her doctor. FWIW, because I don't like panicking people unnecessarily, this is not a usual description of a breast cancer. They are usually painless and do not develop that quickly, although I should say for completeness' sake that it would still be possible for a breast cancer to be *leading* to a swollen or blocked lymph node.

Still. See the doctor.

Most likely a swollen lymph node. Some swollen lymph nodes return to normal when the underlying condition, such as a cold, resolves. However, see your doctor if you're concerned or if your swollen lymph nodes:

* Have appeared for no apparent reason
* Continue to enlarge
* Feel hard or fixed
* Are accompanied by fever, night sweats or unexplained weight loss
* Are red, warm and tender

Could be an infected lymph node. Could be a spider bite. Could be cancer. This is not the place to get a diagnosis.

Get her to her doctor ASAP, for peace of mind.

Could be a swollen lymph node. Also could be a tumor. Your gf would be wise to seek a professional opinion straight away.

Sounds like a swollen lymph node. She should see a doctor if the swelling doesn't go down w/in the next week or so - could be an infection or, God forbid, something worse.

all of the other suggestions are possibilities, but another idea is an inflamed sweat gland - my aunt had one years ago, scared the hell out of us but it turned out to be no big deal. GO TO THE DOCTOR though, no matter what it turns out to be it's better to know and get treatment sooner rather than later!

-sharp razor -shaving cream -exfoliation earlier -warm water -moisturizer -i shave up and down, yet my shave would not final very long, with the aid of fact I even have certainly fairly dark hair and extremely honest pores and skin. once I do the above issues, it lasts longer.

it could be something as simple as a blocked duct or a cyst... but it could also be something more serious... should at least call a doctor ASAP and talk to them about it and have it checked...
