I just purchased a Toshiba Satellite computer and noticed that the hard drive C: space is decreasing by the minute at rates which couldn't be done by downloading small updates. I had an HP laptop and had the same thing and took it back so I'm thinking it may be Vista since I have a desktop with XP and it never did this. Has anyone else had this problem and is there anyway to correct it?

Try bringing up the task manager by pressing the ctrl/alt/del keys at the same time. If you're using up hard drive space then some process is writing to your hard drive. Once it is up take a look at which processes/applications are running AND active. Many may be running but not all will be active. That's one idea.

The other is to manage your performance i.e. your paging file yourself. It's possible that you've got an operating system bug that's taking over your paging file or your paging file is very active because the RAM on your system is pushed to it's limit. That's a second idea.

Three, you could have a virus or spyware running. Try cleaning up using a VScan or Spyware program.

four, call your vendor's tech support line if all else fails.

hope you find your problem
