Well, if you leave out the part about helping the least among us and giving up your possessions and giving Cesar his due, maybe there is.

Interesting how many people are willing to put words into the mouth of God to support their own political agenda isn't it? Yet, complain when someone who doesn't share their agenda does the same. Neither God nor Jesus lay claim to the label liberal or conservative and I imagine both would be insulted by the label if they were real beings. Therein lies the trouble with believing or worshiping a God, you can never be sure what they really want. A point which the power hungry seize and exploit.

I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires. ~ Susan B. Anthony

I don't think you could put it any better than Ms. Anthony.

Jesus was the biggest tree-hugging liberal that I have ever read about.
I have read the bible...many times, and trust me.
Any 'Christian' that makes the argument that Jesus was at all conservative is a complete moron.
Most conservative 'Christians' haven't even read the Bible in full.
This all really shows their ignorance on both issues.

Sure -- Christianity is a religion that includes traditions.

Conservative just means respect for traditions -- conservatives are not (despite the actions of some specific individuals) inherently evil.

Conservatives want things to remain the same. As opposed to progressives who want to see things change.

A conservative Christian believes that things should remain the way they are, and remain in conformance with the teaching and traditions of their faith.

Just because Jesus the Christ was an advocate for progressive change and social betterment doesn't mean that all Christians automatically are as well. Some prefer to just follow specific parts of His teachings, and leave the social change up to others (or leave it to later generations).

Jesus was not into politics.

I am a Conservative Christian. No one in any party believes every thing that party stands for. That is why we have separation of church and state so that religion is not part of politics.

mb,

Does coming to the aid of one life, to save that life, mean you must kill another life??

Slavery was a choice at one time, Do we still practice slavery?

Jesus is not interested in politics, He's interested in your Soul, and what your Soul is like, will dictate what you do in the physical body!!!

Like being nice to others, but remember, He was'nt tolerant like so many people believe, He taught repentance, and turning away from your sin, and Sin no more, 'Go and Sin no more' was what He taught!!!

And we as Christians need to carry that Tradition on!!

We as Conservatives have seen in recent years past that Liberals have wanted to tolerate all kinds of Sin, and So that is why we as Conservatives want to stand up for Christ like Ideals, and carry His teachings on to the next generation!!!!

There are many hues of Christians. Jesus is both liberal and conservative. Sort of like an Independent.

Jesus is liberal with his treatment of the poor and the hungry. Jesus is liberal with his love for even his enemies.

Jesus is conservative fiscally as far as not wasting things to include money. Jesus is certainly pro-life versus pro-abortion. Jesus would not condone gay marriage. These and more would fall under the conservative column.

Therefore neither one of today's ideologies meet the standard set forth by Jesus the Christ (messiah).

Footnote: Who here knew that the word Christ isn't a name, but a description. Jesus' family name is NOT Christ.

Jesus was very conservative. He believed that we should be able to make our own choices and be willing to pay the consequences. If we follow him and obey his commandments then we will have everlasting life. If we choose to follow Satan then we don't. A Socialist Christ would have compelled everyone to follow him. All would be saved but no one would have grown or learned anything.

Well.... your contention is ridiculous. The Bible SPECIFICALLY teaches against abortion and homosexuality. Contrary to what many claim, the Bible does not teach that those people automatically go to hell (Bill Maher doesn't know his facts). But those are taught to be sins, and Jesus does not go along with that as most liberals do.

There are many who say they are Christians, but are not. Our president is a prime example of a "conservative "Christian". If this man is a good Christian, then Osama bin laden is a good Muslim. He has told the world "God told me to invade Iraq". For someone who has such good one on one communications with God, he has done a fine job of going against everything that is good and decent.

He has attributed great evil to God, thereby committing the unforgivable sin of Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. This man's reign of terror will soon end on the earth, but he will be paid back and rewarded "according to his works"
