I live in Chicago and am interested in getting into acting in comercials. I was wondering if someone could offer some advice as far as where to start? I have a little bit of experience with acting and things like that. I've done a paypal print ad and a couple of stock photo shoots but don't have a ton of experience. If you know of where to find out about castings and things like that I'd appreciate the advice. Thanks

Whoa! A "how do I get stated" question from a reasonable person. Glad to help. You live in a area where there are lots of opportunities to get training. Get all you can. There are bound to be some good commercial classes available. Take as many as you can. There should be some good commercial agents in your area too. You will learn about them by talking to your classmates and instructors. Good luck.

sorry this isnt an answer, but how did you start with print ads and photo shoots??
my friend has an agent and shes done several commercials and some movies because this agent offered her work and she auditioned for it.

commercials are the one thing you must have an agent for. they are the best work an actor can get and are very prized.

one gets an agent for professional work, but you can also check with the local tv stations to see if there is anything you could do for them.
