Since you are just starting out, these are 2 good sites to look at. There are a gazillion of other polymer clay sites with other ideas. Do a search for jewelry ideas.

You don't say what type of "clay" you're using . . . what can be made with the different types of clays and the ways they have to be handled are often quite different.

So, if you're using earth clay (ceramic, etc.), I have no suggestions.

But if you're using a polymer clay (Premo, FimoClassic, Kato, Cernit, FimoSoft, or even Sculpey which is the weakest in thin areas after baking), I have loads of suggestions!
(some of these suggestions would also work for some of the air-dry clays, but some wouldn't because polymer clay is much more versatile).

My whole site is a polymer clay "encyclopedia" of lessons, examples, tips, etc,. for making all kinds of different things with clay, so if you don't have any particular type of item in mind already, you might "shop" for some things to try out from the Table of Contents page there:
http://glassattic.com/polymer/contents.htm
(...scroll all the way down that page checking out the category pages and subcategories for each ...then when you find something interesting, go to that page from the alphabetical navigation bar on the left side)

And this page has a lot of suggestions for things clay beginners can do in various of the categories, but all in one place:
